A Moment of Gratitude

For this back-to-nature, hiking vacation, a moment of gratitude makes a huge difference in attitude. The Smoky Mountains are spectacular, with an emphasis on spectating. You are mesmerized by its beautiful creeks, majestic pine and evergreen trees, and winding trails.

Hiking the Alum Cave Bluff trail in the Smoky Mountains

I have always thought that Thanksgiving was holiday of gluttony and indulgence. However, my attitude has changed while visiting the Smoky Mountains. You cannot help but savor the crisp, fresh air, embrace the mountainous views, and hike till your legs fall off. Undeniably, this is God’s country.

The trails provide rustic scenery and a variety of obstacles including wooden bridges, challenging steps and a steady incline as you ascend the mountain.

Nature Trail

Delightfully, the hiking trails in Smoky Mountains are easy to follow, maintained in pristine condition and sometimes connected, like the easy Gatlinburg Trail which leads to Cataracts Falls, or the Trillium Gap Trail Head to the Grotto Falls.

This year, the real gift of gratitude comes when you expect nothing but appreciate everything . Undoubtedly, nature’s beauty is the gift that cultivates appreciation and gratitude.
